Our Wood-Fired Kiln
Our wood-fired kiln was originally a gas kiln, constructed during a pottery workshop led by Len Cook on June 15th and 16th, 2002. Len Cook is recognised as one of Australia’s foremost wood-fired potters.
In August 2024, Dave Handley organised a wood kiln firing. With the assistance of our club members, the gas kiln was restored and converted into a wood-fired kiln, preparing it for the upcoming firing.

A big thank you to James Dunn, who sorted through some old computer disks he found while dealing with his mother Brenda’s estate and provided us with photos of Len Cook’s workshop. Brenda was a member of the Bundaberg Pottery Group and was treasurer for several years.
